Project Engineer (HSS)

Location: Amarillo, TX area

LHH is partnering with our client, an employee-owned leader in complex construction, to hire a Project Engineer . This is a critical onsite role supporting the build of a hyper-scale data center project near Amarillo, TX. The Project Engineer will be embedded with the engineering team and play a pivotal role in driving quality, coordination, and execution across structural, CSA, and MEP scopes.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion on-site quality efforts across structural, CSA, and MEP scopes.
• Collaborate with design professionals, trade contractors, and field teams to resolve complex coordination challenges.
• Manage submittals, shop drawings, and construction documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Conduct QA/QC inspections, site observation reports, and daily safety walks; track and close corrective actions.
• Support schedule development and coordination in partnership with Superintendents and Project Managers.
• Liaise with third-party formwork, rebar, and miscellaneous metals suppliers on shop drawings, delivery sequencing, and installation requirements.
• Drive compliance, safety, and execution excellence to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction QA/QC or field engineering experience supporting structural or heavy civil trades.
• Proven experience managing complex construction scopes involving structural, CSA, and MEP trades.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working on hyper-scale data centers or mission-critical construction projects.
• Prior coordination experience with third-party formwork, rebar, or miscellaneous metals suppliers.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary Range (DOE):

• 2–3 years: $87,360–$109,760
• 4–7 years: $109,760–$128,800
• 8+ years: $128,800–$151,200

Per Diem: $160/day (non-taxable, provided once onsite; no vehicle or gas card provided).

Bonuses: Two annual bonus opportunities—individual performance and company-wide—plus stock appreciation units (SAUs).

Ownership Track: At the 7-year mark, potential for board-level ownership discussion.

Work Environment

• Fully onsite, Amarillo, TX area.
• Standard schedule: Monday–Friday. Rotating work weeks of 60/60/50 hours.
• Occasional weekend work as required by project scope.
• No relocation support—per diem provided.
