Internationally known for its research-based programs, helps children learn both academic and social skills that develop self-control and allow them to interact successfully with others.

Position Description:

1. Provide clinical supervision of COTA and OT fieldwork students; coordinate delivery of OT services in accordance with AOTA Guidelines +R.I. O.T. Practice Act.
2. Screen new admissions + provide O.T. consultation for initial programs; recommend to the IEP team when an occupational therapy evaluation is needed. Conduct IEP team + LEA approved OT evaluations.
3. Prepare IEP Area Plans, implementation descriptions, and classroom schedule in conjunction with interdisciplinary treatment team.
4. Communicate with and train teaching and residential staff and interns/volunteers in program recommendations, implementation strategies, and data recording of OT targets, document training and program recommendations; schedule visits to the residential programs as needed.
5. Provide direct therapy to clients as needed and approved by funding agents.
6. Communication with and train parents in implementing OT programs as needed.
7. Assist in implementing clients' individual behavioral intervention protocols.
8. Develop and maintain occupational therapy curriculum, equipment, and supplies.
9. Collaborate with the interprofessional team such as SLPs, nursing, special educators and etc. in evaluation, planning, and implementation of programs.
10. Conduct in-service training for professionals and families on related topics.
11. Provide OT consultation services for the Community Support Services program according to contract specifications (services may include evaluations, direct therapy, program development, and staff training).
12. Maintain current knowledge and skills in field, assuming responsibility for continuing education and professional development.
13. Intervene with clients who may be exhibiting the behaviors of enuresis, encopresis, ejaculation, spitting, biting, rumination, physical aggression (to self, others or environment), verbal assault, and running. Contact with bodily fluids may occur and along with the necessity to physically restrain, lift, and transport clients.
14. Communication in a manner that is audible and legible.
15. Participate in program analysis activities which include supervisor observations, video and audio taping of staff and clients, and written feedback.
16. Participate in designated training and events that may occur outside of regular work hours.
17. Attend center's open houses, holiday events, and Spring Carnival, which may occur outside of the regular work hours.
