Job Description

Our client, headquartered in Hart County, GA, is seeking a Solidworks Mechanical Designer/Engineer to join their growing team. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, this role is pivotal in creating, reviewing, and updating production and architectural contract documents. The work will be primarily focused on SolidWorks mechanical design, with about 30% of the role involving review of architectural documents to extract information needed for submittal drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Create precise SolidWorks 3D & 2D production drawings and associated documentation for manufactured products.
  • Review and reference architectural documents (construction drawings, submittals, shop drawings, specifications) to support submittal drawings (approx. 30% of workload).
  • Drive efficiencies in CAD configurations, design-table automation, CAD libraries, and documentation processes.
  • Collaborate with leadership, project managers, and technical teams to deliver high-quality, accurate documentation.
  • Support technical publications and manual writing as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field (Associates in Drafting/Design OR equivalent experience also considered).
  • Experience in SolidWorks CAD (sheet metal, weldments, assemblies) or other CAD platforms and SolidWorks PDM or similar data management systems.
  • Familiarity with Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Bill of Materials (BOM), and document control processes.
  • Experience reviewing architectural drawings and documents (construction drawings, submittals, shop drawings), but no direct coordination with architects, contractors, or inspectors required .
  • Knowledge of other software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Bluebeam is a nice-to-have , but not required.
  • Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.
