Director of Operations

📍 Dallas, TX | Commercial General Contractor

A high-performing, Dallas-based general contractor is seeking a strategic, systems-driven Director of Operations to lead its growing project delivery team. Specializing in high-complexity commercial projects ranging from $500K to $20M, the company has recently diversified its portfolio and is targeting 20% annual growth. This role is critical to building the structure, systems, and leadership capacity needed to scale with excellence.

This is not just another senior role—it’s a seat at the table. You’ll be the operational backbone to a fast-moving, growth-focused organization, helping build something that lasts.

Build What Matters | Lead with Excellence

This opportunity is ideal for someone who:

🔥 Thrives on structure, accountability, and high standards

⚙️ Knows how to turn chaos into clarity and vision into execution

📈 Has experience scaling commercial construction operations and teams

💡 Brings a proactive, ownership-driven mindset to everything they do

🙏 Aligns with servant leadership, integrity, and continuous improvement

You'll lead a high-caliber team of Project Managers, Superintendents, and Estimators—instilling systems, enforcing standards, and ensuring every project delivers on time, on budget, and above expectations.

Why This Role Stands Out

✅ Lead the operational charge at a growing, entrepreneurial GC

✅ Influence culture, process, and performance from the top down

✅ Direct mentorship and partnership with company CEO

✅ Scalable systems already in place (Procore, SOPs)—ready to be refined and enforced

✅ Competitive compensation + performance-based bonuses

✅ Structured pathway to ownership for long-term contributors

What You’ll Do

As Director of Operations, you’ll serve as the critical link between vision and execution—bringing consistency, accountability, and clarity to all aspects of field and project operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, developing, and mentoring PMs, Supers, and Estimators
  • Driving project performance—on-time delivery, budget control, and client satisfaction
  • Enforcing operational standards, project controls, and scheduling discipline
  • Managing and refining tools and systems (Procore, SOPs, scheduling workflows)
  • Recruiting and onboarding operational talent as the team scales
  • Partnering closely with Preconstruction and Business Development leadership
  • Overseeing risk management, subcontractor relationships, and QA/QC protocols
  • Leading internal project reviews and post-mortem analysis to drive continuous improvement
  • Reporting directly to the CEO and contributing to strategic growth decisions

What You Bring to the Team

  • 10+ years of commercial construction experience, with at least 5 in a senior operations leadership role (GC experience required)
  • Proven success in scaling teams, systems, and revenue in a growing construction firm
  • Deep knowledge of construction operations, project lifecycle, and trade coordination
  • Proficiency with Procore and construction scheduling/financial software
  • A process-oriented mindset with a strong bias for execution and accountability
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills
  • Alignment with the company’s core values: Ownership • Integrity • Discipline • Growth • Excellence

What Success Looks Like

  • Your team consistently delivers high-quality projects on time and within budget
  • PMs and Supers are well-supported, high-performing, and growing professionally
  • Operational bottlenecks are eliminated through systems and structure
  • You create a culture of clarity, consistency, and accountability
  • You help scale the company while protecting what makes it special
  • You’re seen as a key leader and long-term partner in the firm’s future

This Is More Than a Job—It’s a Legacy Opportunity

If you're ready to take operational leadership of a fast-growing GC with real values and vision—this is your moment. Bring your experience, your systems, and your leadership to a company that’s building something meaningful.

📩 Let’s talk and take the next bold step in your construction career.
