Cultural Competency Training & Consulting Director

Reports to Executive Director 

Part-Time, non-exempt

What We Need

We are seeking a Cultural Competency Training & Consulting Director who works in partnership with leaders and team members to advance CCHCP’s mission to serve as a bridge between communities and health care institutions. This leader will ensure excellence in the cultural competency program by building & training curriculum, managing the business development of the program, and mentoring direct reports in a hybrid environment. CCHCP operates Monday and Friday remotely and in its Seattle office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Our Department

Using culturally agile practices, the program advises health and human services organizations on how to build and sustain culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS) for their patients, clients, and partners with an emphasis on cultural competency, belonging, and unity.

What You’ll Bring

Training and Consulting (45%) (training and consulting services occur in-person and online)

· Deliver cultural competency and assigned training and workshops through current curriculum and updating curriculum as necessary.

· Facilitate the 40-hour training of trainers (TOT) and other training programs for prospective trainers.

· Advise clients through client needs which can include cultural competency assessments/surveys, community listening sessions, and cultural agility best practices via deliverables from consulting contracts.

· Stay abreast of health care and social services trends to ensure curriculum and consulting services remain applicable and relevant.

· Negotiate and generate proposals, contracts, grants, and agreements with local and national clients with oversight from the Executive Director. Manage the timely completion of accounts receivable with staff and program records consistent with organizational procedures.

Program & Business Development (30%)

· Develop a program sustainability plan with current, yearly, three-year, and 5-year projections in partnership with the Executive Director.

· Participate in strategic planning to help generate and communicate new ideas that improve the quality of CCHCP services.

· Cultivate and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with health care and social services organizations, government organizations, funders, advisors, and consultants locally and nationally to secure client contracts or funding for the program.

Team Engagement & Collaboration (25%)

· Supervise, partner with, and mentor the Program Coordinator to co-create an enjoyable and productive work environment.

· Work collaboratively with the Language Access Program Director to understand and ensure program alignment with CCHCP values and vision.

· Under the direction of the Executive Director, file regular program reports listing completed and pending training, consulting projects, and proposals.

· Participate in organizational meetings, team weekly calls, as well as planning sessions, and one-on-one meetings.

· Use program management and other systems/tools used by CCHCP to support the management and delivery of services to clients. 

Qualifications

This position requires an individual with a deep understanding of the social determinants of health, who comprehends the health inequities impacting various populations and can communicate effectively using strong emotional intelligence skills, as well as business program development skills in developing curriculum, analysis, training, and cultivating client relationships.

· At least 2 years of experience developing and/or presenting cultural competency/culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS) training.

· An understanding of effective education or training methodologies for adult professionals, and experienced and comfortable with facilitating discussions and delivering unscripted curriculum content.

· Well-informed in health inequities and regulatory issues in the field of culturally and linguistically appropriate services.

· Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, planning, and organizational skills, with a proven record of successful project completion.

· Demonstrated ability to develop and execute action plans, multitask, prioritize information, manage time effectively, manage multiple projects, deadlines, and ongoing project priorities in at times a fast-paced environment.

· Highly competent skills and experience in data tabulation and statistical analysis.

· Excellent writing and editing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

· Experience in engaging with multicultural communities.

· Bachelor’s degree or proven professional equivalency.

While performing the duties, the director is required to:

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision and the ability to adjust focus.

· The primary workstation is indoors with low to moderate noise levels.

· Secondary and tertiary workspaces will include classrooms, training centers, and conference rooms, where sound and voices may be artificially amplified.

· This position may require some occasional travel locally in the King County area and nationally.

Benefits & Compensation

· Paid Sick Leave (1 hour for every 40 hours worked)

· 8 Paid Holidays (Holiday pay based on FTE)

· Pay Range is $35-$40 Per Hour

Approximately 20-25 hours per week.
