Construction Superintendent Job Description
This Construction Company is a locally owned and operated general contracting firm with 50 years of experience in the restaurant and retail construction business. The Company has become a well-established firm with an excellent reputation due to attention to detail, upfront honesty, quality workmanship, and solid customer relations.
Available Position
The Company seeks a traveling Project Superintendent who will be responsible for supervising day-to-day commercial field construction; completing work on schedule and within budget; and ensuring quality workmanship. He or she will be responsible for maintaining a constantly safe, clean and orderly work site. The superintendent will ensure all aspects of the project comply with all contractual terms, will obtain all inspections, and will document project progress daily.
Jobs are within an 8 hour radius to the Pittsburgh area and you could be required to stay onsite for 1-3 weeks at a time.
Requirements
The successful candidate(s) must be able to:
· Provide leadership to and establish/maintain good working relationships with customers and subcontractors
· Promote teamwork and positive morale
· Enforce company policies
· Read blueprints
· Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proficiently use email and other basic computer programs
· Be self-motivated, resourceful and keep the project on schedule
· Be willing to travel out of state for 2-3 weeks at a time (company paid expenses)
· Possess high school diploma or GED
· Possess current driver’s license (subject to verification)
Desired Skills
· Understand project budgets
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial construction
· Ability to operate a forklift
